Flag Football is the perfect introduction to the game for our youngest athletes. In this non-contact, fast-paced format, kids learn the fundamentals of football in a fun, supportive environment that focuses on teamwork, movement, and confidence.
Whether it’s their first sport or just their first step onto the football field, Flag Football sets the foundation for success — and a love of the game.
What to Expect
Non-contact, 8-player format
Every player carries the ball at least once per game
Simple rules and lots of repetition to build confidence
Certified coaches who teach skills, sportsmanship, and Trojan Tough values
Guaranteed playing time — everyone gets involved
Key Skills We Teach
Passing, catching, running, flag pulling
Basic formations and teamwork
Communication, movement, and coordination
Encouragement, effort, and team spirit
Practices and Games
Practices begin the week of August 1st
Players must complete 10 practices before their first game
Games are played on a shortened field in two 28-minute halves
No kickoffs, punts, or tackling
Arrive 30 minutes before kickoff for games
What to Bring
Rubber cleats (no metal)
Mouthguard (required at all times)
Water bottle and positive energy!
Jerseys, belts, and flags are provided.
Additional Expectations
Players must maintain good behavior and academic performance at school.
Players will wear their jerseys to school on Fridays before games to show team spirit.
Weather policy: Games and practices are played in all conditions except thunder and lightning.
